The event and main topics

Following the successful edition of last year, that attracted 115 registrants from 9 different Countries and 10 International Partners, we are pleased to announce the second edition of the Field Trip of the International Course on Geotechnical and Structural Monitoring that will be held again at the Poggio Baldi Landslide and, for the first time, at the Ridracoli Dam(Santa Sofia, FC - Italy) on 10th June 2016.

The event is addressed to Geologists, Engineers,Surveyors, Architects and to all the people involved in the fields of surveying and monitoring, of land protection and emergency management. Students of the Master Course on Analysis and Mitigation of Hydrogeological Risk (organized by CERI, Research Center of “Sapienza” University of Rome) already confirmed their attendance, together with a large group of foreign participants of the Third International Course on Geotechnical and Structural Monitoring, that will be held in Poppi (Tuscany) on 7-9 June 2016.

During the visit to the large Poggio Baldi landslide, participants will have the opportunity to understand the geological and geomorphological processes which led to the catastrophic event of March 2010 and to visit the experimental monitoring site designed and set up by the joint initiative of NHAZCA S.r.l., Spin-off of “Sapienza” University of Rome and “Parco Nazionale delle Foreste Casentinesi, Monte Falterona e Campigna”.

Practical demonstrations of cutting edge geotechnical monitoring equipment (e.g. Laser Scanner, Radar Interferometry, Photogrammetry, borehole equipment, topographic equipment) will be performed by International leading Partners like Geosense Ltd., Campbell Scientific Ltd., Measurand Inc., 3D Laser Mapping Ltd., MetaSensing, IDS S.p.A., Leica Geosystems S.p.A., Microgeo S.r.l. and NHAZCA S.r.l.

Manufacturers and expert technicians will be available for questions and information.
